| Aflame publishes voices that deserve to be heard - because they write with a passion and originality unusual in English and because their stories are a pleasure to read.
Aflame Books was established in the UK in 2005 and our first title, Halala Madiba: Nelson Mandela in Poetry, was released in July 2006. We publish about six books a year.
We focus on works of literature originally published in languages from regions once collectively known as the third world. A more positive collective noun is the Warm World.
In its first two years Aflame has signed up writers from Iran, Guatemala, Angola, South Africa, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Many of these are award-winners in their own language.
